The Police in Budaka district are investigating circumstances under which an 82-year-old woman fell and died in a pit latrine.
According to Bukedi North Police spokesperson, Samuel Semewo, the incident occurred at Naigabya village, Bwase ward in Budaka town council on 12/10/2024 at unknown time.
Semewo has identified the deceased as Margaret Nakalyesi who has been partially blind due to old age. It is alleged that the deceased was found dead inside a pit latrine measuring about 20ft which had been dug by her neighbor Joan Sabano.

Naigabya village chairperson, Dongo Wasoma reported to police after learning about the news of one of his residents dying in a pit latrine.
Semewo reported that Nakalyesi’s body was retrieved and conveyed to Budaka Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination.
Though police had its team of detectives visiting the scene of crime and recorded a number of statements, Semewo reported that by press time, no suspect had been arrested.
