Mukono Parents High School has celebrated 25 years of existence since its inception in 1999. The thanksgiving service held at the school premises located at Bajjo Cell in Goma Division, Mukono Municipality on Saturday were led by the Bishop of Mukono diocese, Enos Kitto Kagodo, in company with the diocesan secretary, Canon John Ssebudde, Archdeacon of Seeta Archdeaconry, Edward Kironde Balamaze and other church servants.

Bp. Kagodo urged believers to maintain an impenetrable bond with God, open their hearts and allow him to intervene on all their undertakings as a sure way of beating their enemies.

The bishop praised the founder of Mukono Parents High School, the Late Jonathan Kisitu for allowing God to use him as he manifested such a big institution which has groomed thousands of students and employed hundreds of teaching and non-teaching staff in its 25 years of existence.

“I have a reason to praise Mr Kisitu in his absentia for having initiated his wife into his business, the only reason which has helped it to keep the legacy moving even after his demise, all these years from 2007. Had he been like other selfish men who decide to hide their investments from their family members, I don’t believe we would be here celebrating these 25 years of this mighty schools,” Kagodo said, adding;

“I also thank Maama Betty Kisitu for defying all odds and persevering to keep the school abreast even after the death of her husband. Allow me to also thank Kisitu’s children for standing with their mother to keep the family business shining in the face of all hardships. You are the reason why we are celebrating.”

The Bishop noted that 25 years of running the school in absence of its proprietor have not been a bed of roses and added that the director has foregone a lot of things together with teachers, other staff members and sympathizers, to keep the school on its feet.

“I also celebrate the teachers who have been with this school for these 25 years. I believe there was a time you took more than a month without receiving your monthly salary but you did not give up. May you continue working as a group and have Mukono Parents High School shine to greater heights,” he said.

In her speech, the Director Betty Kisitu reported that since the death of her husband in 2007, the school has come face to face with a lot of challenges and that it is purely by God’s luck that they have recorded such glamorous success since then.

“It really bothered me that different people were willing to buy the school without any of us putting it on the market, even during the period when we were going through hard times,” she said.

Ms. Kisitu was happy that parents and other friends of the school have been prayer partners which she said has kept their heads above the waters.

Bishop Kagodo also blessed and dedicated the candidates and urged them to always put their trust in God who will not forsake them.

“You should not trust people who will disappoint you by enticing you to engage in exam malpractice which will in the end ruin your future. Just put your trust in God, he will not forsake you,” he stressed.
