Prosecution told court that in August 2024, the accused, along with others still at large, attempted to illegally evict the family of the late Abiyasaali Kasozi, the rightful occupants of their ancestral land in Kireka without an eviction order.

He is also said to have cut down eucalyptus trees that the family had nurtured on the land for over 40 years.

“Despite clear orders from the Resident District Commissioner (RDC) to halt the eviction, the Pastor, acting with impunity, continued to cut down the trees and sold them. His actions directly violated President Museven’s directives to landlords regarding the rights of Bibanja holders.”

Court has remanded Mwesige until October 03, 2024.
