“On Thursday, police in Kayunga arrested seven of our comrades who were issuing party membership cards and conducting registration activities. They were detained for 24 hours and arraigned before court on Friday where they were all charged with ‘public nuisance’ and granted a UGX 100,000 cash bail when they denied the charges.

It is absolutely criminal for the police to meddle in the mobilization process of a legally registered political party. We strongly condemn the police for continuously interfering with our party activities in different parts of the country.
