Senior Four, Senior Six and Primary Seven finalists have been advised to trust and rely on God for passing their UNEB examinations, and keep clear of worrying and resorting to other ungodly ways likely to land them into sinning.

The advice was sounded by the Anglican Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Rt. Rev. Enos Kitto Kagodo during a sermon in a dedication service for finalists which was held at St. Stephen’s Junior School Ddandira in Mukono Municipality. The function gathered candidates from St. Stephens Junior School, St. Stephens Senior Secondary School Ddandira, University Hills Primary School, Lweza Primary School and others.

Bp. Kagodo pointed out that S.4 students have been victimized most by the problem of worrying, attributing this to the fact that they are the pioneers of the New Lower Secondary Education Curriculum and advised them to internalize whatever has been taught to them, and then leave the rest to God who he assured, will surely see to their success.

“Do not ever attempt to get into malpractices of whatever nature because this will only serve to lead to cancellation of your exam results,” the Bishop said. The Bishop also confirmed 94 learners from those schools.

Bp. Kagodo appealed to school heads to ensure provision for their school chaplains sent by the diocese and to ensure that they are paid well to enable them cater for their human needs.

The prelate was responding to a remark by the Parish Priest for Ddandira, Rev. Micah Lukwago who reported that chaplains are paid peanuts as salaries, making it difficult for them to make ends meet, despite the gigantic nature of their work.

Daniel Zzimbe, one of the directors of St. Stephen schools, hailed Bp. Kagodo for always sending them spiritual leaders in their schools, and promised to look into and revise their remuneration as asked by the Bishop.

Zzimbe however told him that much as school administrations endeavor to ensure the children move into an upright and Godly manner, some parents have not played their role by giving them (children) a lot of liberty to get into wayward behaviour.

Also in attendance were the Archdeacon of Nassuuti Archdeaconry Ven. Kenneth Lukwago Kampi, the Diocesan Treasurer Rev. Rogers Kityo, parish priests, lay readers, children and parents.
